RCMBXI Promotes LMC at UM Tagum College
The branch gave a talk on Labor Management Cooperation to more or less 600 graduating students of the University of Mindanao Tagum College.
Sheila A. Rivera, Labor and Employment Officer III of Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch XI acted as the Resource Speaker on September 23, 2019 for the seminar entitled “Seminar for Graduating Students on Employment Laws and Best Practices at Citymall Activity Center, Tagum City.
The participants were students from different academic departments such as criminal justice, education, business administration, accounting, hotel and restaurant management, engineering, and arts and sciences and the honors society composed of honor students from the lower years.
This has been established as a continuing program aimed to equip and prepare their graduates for eventual assimilation to the nation’s excellent and productive workforce as stated by Professor Marialyn C. Gonzaga, MBA as School OJT Coordinator.
Mr. Rey A. Maquidato, Vice President of the Association of Labor Management Cooperation Practitioners (ALMACOP), Davao Chapter also shared the best practices of Unifrutti Tropical Philippines, Inc. about their health and wellness program and welfare program for all employees.
Ms. Vermilyn Bilog, HR Manager of Tagum Agricultural Development Co., Inc. was also invited as one of the guest speakers. Other topics include the salient features of D.O. 174 series of 2017, financial literacy as they have invited speakers from BDO, Philam Life Insurance Corp., Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Davao and Tagum Cooperative and topic on the secret to become a model employee.
This is the third time that the branch shared to programs of NCMB specifically LMC to the graduating of students of UM. The previous was held on April 1, 2019 at San Jose Gymnasium with Cary Jun Montero, Senior Labor and Employment Officer as the resource speaker. Sheila A. Rivera
