RCMB XI Facilitates LMC and Institutionalizes GM at MAGSIGE Multipurpose Cooperative
NCMB-RBXI conducted basic orientation seminar on NCMB programs at Manuel Guianga and Sirib Growers and Employees Multipurpose Cooperative on December 18, 2017 at Lantaw Bukid, Tugbok, Davao City.
The team shared the NCMB Overview to present the mandates and functions of NCMB.
This was then followed by the introduction of Single Entry Approach (SEnA) to give them the guidelines of the program. Likewise, Gender and Development (GAD) was presented as an integration of LMC facilitation.
This was followed by the institutionalization of Grievance Machinery and LMC facilitation. Later on, LMC structuring as well as the different companies with their LMCs converged under the convergence of programs were then presented as model structures.
The NCMB-RBXI team was amazed by their existing practices as they already have their LMC program called “Tulay sa Pagkakaisa”. The MAGSIGE representatives felt assured that they are on the right track of implementing their good practices.
“We want to put a bridge between the management and the employees to address issues and concerns”, said Mr. Richard Rosales, HRD Manager.
During our short visit at their newly opened building at Calinan, Davao City, we met Mr. Agripino Torres, CEO of MAGSIGE Multipurpose Cooperative.
“We have just started our garments making which was operated by spouses of our employees. This was also made possible through the financial assistance of DOLE. We also provide other livelihood or income generating activities for family members of our employees like piggery, etc. We also provide loans for our employees who need financial assistance as well as savings and marketing basic commodities for our members. These were few of the statements of Mr. Torres.
With its total workforce of 7,125, the said cooperative is looking forward for another set of orientation for different batches to disseminate the programs of NCMB.
MAGSIGE-MPC was organized and registered with the Cooperative Development Authority on September 10, 2008.
MAGSIGE-MPC was formed by Mr. Agripino L. Torres to improve the employment status of the employees working in the banana plantations.
It offers labor services (job contracting services) to agricultural and industrial companies, savings and loan and marketing of basic commodities. Sheila A. Rivera, LIO-designate
