NCMB-RBXI Settles Issue on Voluntarily Regularization


Davao City – “The National Conciliation and Mediation Board facilitated the settlement of the labor dispute between Nagkahiusang Mamumuo sa Philippine Japan Active Carbon Corp. (PJACC)-Federation of Democratic Labor Organization (FDLO) on February 22, 2018” OIC-Director Aerrine Marie R. Reyes announced.

NMPJACC-FDLO filed a labor dispute as Preventive Mediation case against Philippine Japan Active Carbon Corporation for failure of the management to comply its commitment to voluntarily regularize its employees as mandated under DOLE D.O. No. 174.
The management proposed to regularize 27 identified positions which will be effected in three (3) tranches which started on March 21, 2018 and will continue on September 21, 2018 and March 21, 2019.  They said these employees will undergo a probationary period of six (6) months.

Parties agreed then to discuss the Voluntary Regularization Plan in their Labor Management Cooperation (LMC).

“This office recognizes the Voluntary Compliance of PJACC to regularize their workers in relation to the campaign of DOLE to voluntarily regularize their workers as provided in the Labor Advisory 6 Series of 2017”, said OIC-Director Reyes.

PJACC is one of the world’s finest manufacturers of activated carbon from coconut shell charcoal.  It has 124 total workforce represented by Mr. Takashi Tokumori, Executive Vice President/General Manager.

Nagkahiusang Mamumuo sa PJACC-FDLO is the sole and exclusive bargaining agent and represents for collective bargaining purposes the six (6) rank and file employees represented by Mr. Normalito Belandres, Sr., Union President. Sheila A. Rivera
