On its 3rd Area-wide Seminar for 2018


The Association of Labor Management Cooperation Practitioners (ALMACOP), Davao Chapter in partnership with the National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Regional Branch XI levelled up again with another area-wide seminar for 2018 entitled “Level Up 2018.3:  Learn More;  Achieve More” at the Apo View Hotel, Camus St., Davao City on November 27, 2018.

The event includes learning sessions and fellowship activity where both labor and management sectors gathered together reaching up to 150 attendees.


Mr. Julius M. Jonelas, currently the President of ALMACOP, Davao Chapter gave the opening remarks and warmly welcomed all the guests and participants.

Mr. Rey A. Maquidato, Vice-President introduced the first guest speaker,  Atty. Jason P. Balais, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office XI.


Atty. Balais gave the salient features of Executive Order No. 51 series of 2018 –Endo Amendments and Republic Act 11058 or the Occupational Safety and Health Law.


There was also an open forum right after the topic moderated by Elsa Sevilla, Business Manager.

In the afternoon, Apex Mining Company, Inc. with its LMC name AMCINERO showcased their best practices. NCMB-RBXI facilitated their LMC on January 24, 2014.


Dr. Gina Fe Israel, one of the Board of Directors of ALMACOP, Davao Chapter and formerly the PHILMACOP President introduced Atty. Johnson G. Cañete, Regional Director of DOLE, Regional Office VII as the next Resource Speaker. 


Atty. Cañete beat the siesta time with his topic on “Stress Management” which was filled with humor and laughter.  He stressed “There is no such thing as stressful situation.  There are only stressful responses to situations”.


OIC-Director Aerrine Marie R. Reyes also gave an inspirational message to the participants and thanked the presence of each despite their busy schedule.


ALMACOP, Davao Chapter also filled the activity with lots of surprises as they gave raffle prizes and special presents to each participant as they also made this event an opportunity for Christmas fellowship.

ALMACOP, Davao Chapter is one of the social partners of NCMB-RBXI in the promotion of labor management cooperation which specifically aims to foster harmonious relationship in the workplace to prevent any labor conflicts to develop into a full blown labor dispute, hence promote industrial peace in the region.  Sheila A.
