Conduct Learning Session
The Association of Labor Management Cooperation Practitioners (ALMACOP), Davao Chapter in partnership with Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch XI conducted an area wide seminar entitled LevelUp2019.1: Learn More, Achieve More on August 23, 2019 at Molave Hotel, Tagum City.
There were 136 participants from different companies both organized and unorganized.
Former Regional Director Manuel C. Roldan gave the first topic on the Art of Negotiating/Negotiation. Dir. Roldan emphasized “If both labor and management have the same paradigm shift, then it is easier to negotiate”.
“Pessimistic always see problem in every solution. Winners are those who see solutions in every problem”, he added.
Atty. Jason Balais, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office XI introduced the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. 11058 entitled “An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof”. Atty. Balais emphasized that occupational safety and health is required in every workplace.
Ms. Greta Fe Martinez-Quayle of Social Security System gave the topic on R.A. 11210 – Expanded Maternity Leave Act. Ms. Quayle also stressed out that all women who got pregnant are entitled to this benefit regardless of their civil status.
There were also allotted time for question and answer after each topic.
In addition, there were also dance performances from the University of Mindanao students before each topic to perk up the attention of the participants.
ALMACOP, Davao Chapter is one of the social partners of NCMB that promotes industrial peace in the region.
