ALMACOP, Davao Chapter and NCMB-RBXI Hold a Learning Session and General Assembly


The Association of Labor Management Cooperation Practitioners (ALMACOP), Davao Chapter in cooperation with the National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Regional Branch XI levelled up again with the first area-wide seminar for 2018 entitled “Level Up 2018.1:  Levelling Up Industrial Peace” at the Grand Regal Hotel, Lanang, Davao City on February 9, 2018.  The activity includes learning session in the morning entitled “Levelling Up Industrial Peace” and General Assembly and Election of the new set of officers in the afternoon.

There were 136 participants who attended in this event.

Atty. Noel D. Balsicas, CPA was the Resource Speaker during the learning session. Atty. Balsicas is Chairman for PMAP Labor Policy Reform and Industrial Relations Committee and Labor Relations Manager of San Miguel Corp.

As HR, he shared many of his vast experiences and LMC practices to the attendees.  Atty. Noel humbly said “I go for a coffee or invite my workers for a jogging in the morning.  I talk with them in a casual manner until they open up their concerns with me”.  Being HR for several years, he emphasized that establishing a good relationship with colleagues is very important in the organization.

Participants were even satisfied as he used the Visayan dialect as a medium of his talk which made it simple and easy to understand for the crowd.


There was an open forum right after the learning session moderated by the master of ceremony of the program from Mr. Efren Costan of Stanfilco Plastic Plant.


After the session, NCMB-RBXI awarded different companies as recognition for the unconditional efforts and accomplishments of previous officers for 2016-2017 and of course for the support of their respective companies for allowing them to go out of their official functions and actively perform their duties as officers of ALMACOP, Davao Chapter.  The companies who were awarded were Dole Philippines, Inc.-Stanfilco Division, Del Monte Fresh Produce (Phils.), Inc., San Pedro Hospital of Davao City, Inc., Unifrutti Tropical Phils., Inc., Marsman Estate Plantation, Inc., Davao Doctors Hospital, Inc., Stanfilco Plastic Plant, JTC Group of Companies and Stanfilco Luna West Zone.




In the afternoon, the activity continued with the election of the new set of officers.

Mr. Julius M. Jonelas, Union President of Del Monte Fresh Supervisory Union under Del Monte Fresh Produce (Phils.), Inc. was elected as the President.  Mr.  Rey  A. Maquidato, HR/Admin. Manager of Unifrutti Tropical Philippines, Inc. (UTPI) was elected as the Vice President.  Ms. Janice Kristie S. Remolona, HR Head of Davao Light & Power Co., Inc. was elected as the Secretary.  For the Treasurer, Ms. Aida A. Brillante, RND, Union President of San Pedro Hospital Employees Union-FFW was elected.  For Auditor, Mr. Michael King S. Ando, HR Manager of Del Monte Fresh Produce (Phils.), Inc., PRO was Mr. Efren M. Costan, HR Head of Stanfilco Plastic Plant, Business Manager was Mr. Juanito P. Villansencio, HR Officer of the University of Mindanao-Main.  For the Board Members, Mr. Romel M. Pinario, Union B.O.D. of Pagkakaisa ng mga Trabahante sa Davao Doctors Hospital, Mr. Julius P. Bulacito, Ex-Officio and HR/LR Officer of Stanfilco, A Div. of Dole Phils., Inc.-Main, Dr. Gina Fe G. Israel, Dean of College of the University of Mindanao-Tagum Branch and Mr. Erwin S. Masillones, Union President of Stanfilco Almaca Labor Union-FILU.

Right after the election, the new set of officers were inducted by OIC-Director Aerrine Marie R. Reyes.





The session was made more exciting as officers of ALMACOP, Davao Chapter brought surprises with minor and major prizes. More than the surprises, participants were also entertained by the number rendered by a professional magician named “Rodel” who is also a registered nurse from Davao Doctors Hospital.   Sheila A.
