The Regional Branch joins the 31 days celebration of the 2021 National Women’s Month spearheaded by the Philippine Women’s Commission (PCW) in March.
With the theme “We make Change Work for Women” “Juana sa Panahon ng Pandemya: KAYA!”, the PCW encouraged government agencies to showcase activities that shows support to Women.
In line with this, the Branch had chosen several initiatives to show their support. The first was adopting the Online Cover Banner for the Women’s Month in the agency’s website. In addition, the said banner was also displayed outside the building of the Branch.
Moreover, employees of the Branch joined and participated in the weekly online webinar series organized by the PCW. The Branch were able to listen to the following webinars: (1) Juana, Nangunguna sa Pandemya; (2) Kamusta ka, Juana?; and (3) Bida si Juana sa Panahon ng Corona.
Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, OIC-Undersecretary of the Department of Health, discussed during the second online webinar of PCW, that women are more prone than men to the negative impact caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. “Before the pandemic, there were no gender differences in self-rated work productivity and job satisfaction. However, during the lockdown, women reported lower productivity and job satisfaction than men.” Vergeire noted. “Thus, it is crucial that every Juana must lead to empower themselves and that we must take care of ourselves especially our Mental Health to prepare us in the pandemic.”
One of the Branch’s female employee also expressed her opinion on how to survive the pandemic and how to empower women. “Commitment and perseverance are the keys for us to continue our dreams in life. The love of family, which we always treasure, prompted us to do our best in all our endeavors, in our work and our commitment to the community.” shared Supervising Labor Employment Officer Nancy Lasquite.
Another initiative of the Branch was to wear purple-colored uniforms every Monday for the whole month of March. The Branch will also be conducting the “RCMBXI Forum in the Context of Covid-19 Pandemic” on March 25, 2021.
NCMB Regional Branch XI employed three female employees in the first quarter of 2021. The Branch is headed by an empowered woman with 34 years of government service record and she is Regional Branch Director Aerrine Marie R. Reyes. Gary B. Bonghanoy
