URBAN GARDENING DURING LOCKDOWN

The branch headed by OIC-Director Aerrine Marie Reyes resorted to urban gardening during lockdown due to COVID19 pandemic.

“We can say that at this time, the pandemic has brought some positive effects as we have more time for other productive activities other than our usual busy schedules. Now, we were able to have time to cook for our favourite menu while taking time in planting vegetables to make it available in our limited space for cooking for free,” Dir. Reyes emphasized.

“This is not only therapeutic but also cost saving.  We do not have to go out to buy some of our basic needs.  This also helps us protect ourselves from exposure to people,” Dir. Reyes added.

Planting in the office premise is also part Green Our DOLE Program (GODP) as planting in some areas is not possible at these times.
