RMCBXI Embarks on Three- in-One Day Activity this March
Davao City – “The branch kicks off the day with three in one activity this March 27. This in line with our Women’s Month Celebration, Green our DoLE Program (GODP) and health and wellness,” OIC-Director Aerrine Marie R. Reyes was happy to announce yesterday.
Brgy. Kagawad Dennis Agad warmly welcomed the branch together with some employees of Stanfilco for this joint undertaking. But before starting over the activity, the group offered a short prayer led by one of the employees of Stanfilco and acknowledged the presence of our Almighty God and asked for His providence and guidance.
The branch started the three in one day activity with tree planting. This is in partnership with Dole Philippines, Inc., Stanfilco Division headed by Mr. Caesar Opeña and in coordination with Brygy. Captain Arnel A. Liong at the Adopt Cogan Creek Project Site, Cogan, Brgy. Malagos.
“We planted 200 seedlings of narra or pterocarpus indicus in scientific name in the area,” Cary Jun P. Montero, GODP focal announced yesterday.
Officers, personnel and other staff had a great experience as it is one way of connecting with nature while helping and preserving a green environment. The team also followed the observance of proper waste disposal by collecting the plastics used and put them in the containers for proper disposal.
The branch was very grateful for the support of the barangay local government unit of Malagos and of Stanfilco.
The project started in March 11, 2011 which was sponsored by Dole Philippines, Inc., Stanfilco Division with its implementing partners the barangay local government unit of Malagos, Kasilak Dev’t. Foundation, Inc., Department of Environment & Natural Resources-Environment and Management Bureau XI, American Corner, Ateneo de Davao University – American Spaces, Phil. Banana Growers & Exports Association-American Spaces and Phil. Banana Growers & Exports Association.
Some trees that were already planted include mahogany, gmelina, bamboo laak, ipil-ipil and lagdong.
After the tree planting, the personnel then proceeded to Malagos Garden Resort for the celebration of the Women’s Month through an activity entitled “Forum on Gender and Development with a theme “We Make Change Work for Women”.
Each personnel was given an opportunity to share his/her insights and opinions on gender-related issues prevailing in the society nowadays as well as the salient features of the law on expanded maternity leave which was signed into law by our President Rodrigo R. Duterte on February 20, 2019.
“This is a great time for bonding with our colleague while enjoying and appreciating the outdoor atmosphere. This is also great avenue for an open discussion and sharing of insights and knowledge on some provisions under the Magna Carta of Women and the recent law on expanded maternity leave,” Sheila A. Rivera, GAD Focal said.
RCMBXI Personnel and staff stretched the day with a walk tour around the resort and relished its amenities.
The team then played sets of billiards and a round of chess game with these large sized chess sets which added the fun for the day.
“We want to make sure that we as employees have a balanced activity from learning to wellness as well. That is why everyone must engage in some sports available in the venue. This will also enhance teamwork in our organization,” Oliver C. Jao, Wellness Chairman also emphasized.
“In promoting the programs of NCMB, it is important for us to have experienced by ourselves the meaning and essence of LMC,” Dir. Reyes affirmed.
