RCMBXI Conducts the Third GODP Activity
The branch conducted the third Green Our DOLE Program activity for the year at the fifth floor or roof top of its office on September 27, 2019.
Ms. Aerrine Marie R. Reyes, OIC-Director commented, “We want to inspire people to plant, nurture plants or trees. The very good place to observe green program is to start at our very own place. That is why we are planting flowers at our office space.”
All personnel and staff together prepared the area and planted “pandakaki” flowers.
Pandakaki is an erect, branched and smooth shrub, one to four meters high. It is common in thickets at low altitudes from the Babuyan Island and Luzon to Mindanao. It has some health benefits for boil, eczema, wound or skin lesions. It is also used to induce menstruation. It is used to relieve head, chest and pelvic congestion. Poulticed leaves can be applied on the abdomen to hasten childbirth. Studies have also showed that it is analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antibacterial and many others. (stuartxchange.com)
Conciliator-mediator Oliver Jao also planted “blue ternate flower” as it is known to have many benefits in one’s health.
Dir. Reyes added “We will not stop here. Please continue to take care of our plants. We will visit, sprinkle water and nurture these plants every day.”
This is part of Green our DOLE Program (GODP) of the branch. The first one was held on March 27, 2019 at Stanfilco Adopt a Cogan Project Site at Brgy. Malagos. The second one was on June 14, 2019 at Cleanergy Park of Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. at Punta Dumalag.
