DAVAO CITY. Cary Jun P. Montero, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch XI was lauded during the 16th Regional Sandugo Recognition and Awarding Ceremony held at the Grand Regal Hotel last July 23, this year.
This annual recognition and awarding ceremony was sponsored by the Department of Health-Local Health Support Division (DOH-LHSD) spearheaded by Dr. Leoncio Ong, head of the Davao Blood Center, which gives honor to those who actively participated in the blood donation and gave full support to the said program of the Department of Health.
Recipients of the award include the local chief executives of provincial and municipal governments of Region XI and its barangay officials; government agencies; and non-government organizations such as the academe, religious sector and private sector.
Awardees in different categories came from the cities of Davao, Tagum, Panabo; and from the municipalities of Compostela; Maco; Malita; Magsaysay; Malalag; Matanao; Padada; and Sta. Maria.
Hon. Mayor Allan Rellon of Tagum City was the guest speaker during the occasion.
“Dugong alay, karugtong ay buhay” was Montero’s aphorism of consistently donating his blood to help those who really need it.
Categories of the award include 2 galloner, 3 galloner, 4 galloner, 5 galloner and 6 galloner, respectively.
Montero was one of the awardees in 3 galloner category.
This is the second time Montero was given recognition for his exemplary support to the organization and for being an avid blood donor. The first time was in 2010.
“Give Blood for those Who Give Life” is the theme of this year’s awarding rite.#dmg1
