The Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) of Region XI, spearheaded and chaired by DOLE Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo, CESO III, called for regular quarterly meeting last October 14-16, 2020 and October 19, to tackle issues raised by the Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (RTIPC-XI) and the Industry Tripartite Councils of seven sectors.
OIC-Director Aerrine Marie Reyes of the Branch participated in this meeting and joined in reaching the two policy resolutions which were: (1) A resolution urging the Department of Labor and Employment to extend the implementation of Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) to the affected workers of private educational institutions, including those who are employing more than 200 workers; and (2) A resolution urging the Department of Transportation and its attached agencies and all other concerned government agencies to reactivate the crew change operation in the port of Davao upon strict observation of the required health protocols.
“The Branch is happy to support and act on the undertakings of the Department especially on the government’s financial assistance to the workers and the latest guidelines on the required health protocols. We hope that resolutions created would make a difference to the stakeholders heavily affected by the pandemic” Reyes stated.
Other issues tackled during the meetings includes: (1) the presentation of the DOLE XI Portal; (2) implementation of Department of Trade and Industry – Department of Labor and Employment (DTI-DOLE) Supplemental Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of COVID-19; and the (3) DTI-DOLE Advisory No. 20-02.
The Industry Tripartite Councils who attended this endeavor belongs to the (a) Academe, (b) Maritime, (c) Banana, (d) Construction, (e) Information Technology and Business Processing Management (IT-BPM), (f) Tourism and (g) Mining sectors. Gary B. Bonghanoy
