Grievance Machinery (GM) is a mechanism for the adjustment and resolution of grievances. It is a provision or clause in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) where complaints, disputes, grievance and controversies between the employees and employer shall be discussed and resolved.
A process intended to promote friendly dialogue between employees and employer to maintain industrial peace. It is a formal process for settling complaints, issues and concerns and a mechanism established to resolve conflicts in the workplace.
Voluntary Arbitration (VA) refers to the mode of settling labor-management disputes by which the parties select a competent, trained and impartial third person who has the authority to decide on the merits of the case and whose decision is final, executory and binding.
It is the terminal step if grievance machinery has been exhausted but has not been resolved in the plant level.
