PRESS RELEASE

NCMB-RBXI Settles Preventive Mediation Case at Mustang Transport, Inc.

“A Preventive Mediation case between Mustang Transport Employees Union (MUTEU) and Mustang Transport, Inc. was settled on December 20, 2017,” OIC-Director Aerrine Marie R. Reyes announced on December 21, 2017.

On November 27, 2017, the union filed a Preventive Mediation case for unfair labor practice on the issue of illegal termination of the former union President, Mr. Rodrigo Bactong on 13 September 2017.

Mr. Bactong claimed for his separation benefits.  However, management manifested that they observed due process in effecting Mr. Bactong’s dismissal and that he is not entitled to the separation benefits under the CBA because he was separated for a cause.

After a series of joint and separate meetings of the parties facilitated by OIC-Director Reyes, the parties agreed to remand this case at the plant level for a thorough discussion on the matter and for possible amicable settlement.

Mustang Transport Employees Union (MUTEU) is the sole and exclusive bargaining agent and represents for collective bargaining purposes the twenty-five (25) rank and file employees headed by its Union President, Mr. Antonio Gudin.

Mustang Transport, Inc. is a domestic corporation, engaged in trucking business.  It is represented by its President, Mr. Dexter U. Ansaldo.  Sheila A. Rivera
