NCMB-RBXI Settles Notice of Strike Case this December
Davao City – One Notice of Strike case was successfully settled in the branch.
This case was filed in this branch by Lapanday Box Plant and Plastic Plant Supervisory Union-National Federation of Labor Union-Kilusang Mayo Uno on November 7, 2016 on the grounds of collective bargaining deadlock. The Union further manifested that the very slow-moving negotiation with management led them to file the Notice of Strike. For the period of six (6) months, very few political provisions were agreed, the union said.
On November 14, 2016, the union submitted to this office the result of their strike vote referendum with majority of the total union membership voted for yes.
On November 22, 2016, the management presented its improved offer while the union manifested to refer the improved proposals of the management to general assembly for consideration.
On December 2, 2016, the union offered settlement on wages while other unresolved items shall be remanded to LMC and parties should conduct a meeting anytime from December 3 until December 11, 2016 if there was an enhancement of the offer and counter-offer from management.
Finally, on December 13, 2016, parties with the assistance and facilitation of Conciliator-mediator Aerrine Marie R. Reyes agreed to settle the remaining 25 items of their collective bargaining. Estimated monetary benefit under the said negotiation totalled to P2.5 million benefitting 17 supervisory union members.
