The Preventive Mediation case at Jose Daigdigan Farms was settled, Con-med Oliver C. Jao declared on September 26, 2017.

On September 19, 2017, Jose Daigdigan Farms Labor Union filed a Preventive Mediation against Jose Daigdigan farms on the ground of unfair labor practice due to refusal to the management to sign their CBA.  Other issues involved were money claims, non-payment of office rental, non-remittance of SSS contributions, non-provision of safety boots and non-implementation of Wage Order No. 19.

On September 26, 2017, both parties appeared before Conciliator-Mediator Jao for an initial conciliation conference.

In just one scheduled conciliation conference with some separate meetings and negotiations which Con-med Jao facilitated, parties agreed with their issues.

Management and labor agreed to sign their CBA.  Likewise, payment of money claims and compliance with SSS remittances shall be made not later than November 30, 2017.  Furthermore, the parties agreed that the company shall implement a four-day work week until December 15, 2017.

Estimated monetary benefits is P300,000.00.

Jose Daigdigan Farm is a business entity engaged in the planting of Cavendish bananas represented by its owner, Mr. Jose G. Daigdigan.  Its principal place of business is located at Purok Sto. Niño, Kinamayan, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.

Jose Daigdigan Farm, its union, is an affiliate of Association of Democratic Labor Organization-Kilusang Mayo Uno (ADLO-KMU) and the sole and exclusive bargaining agent of the company.  The said union is represented by twenty four (24) union members headed by Mr. Porferio C.
