NCMB Mindanao Cluster Undergoes GAD Staff Competency Development and Team Enhancement Exercises

 

Davao City – The Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch (RCMB) XI participated in the 2019 GAD Staff Competency Development and Team Enhancement Exercises at Villa Paraiso Apartelle of Camiguin hosted by RCMB X on April 24-26, 2019. Participants were from the Regional Branches IX-XIII.

The activity formally started on April 24, 2019 at around 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Mr. Mark Daniel Gallares of RCMB X greeted and acknowledged all the participants. It was then followed by A welcome message of Atty. Ligaya Lumbay, Director II of the host region.

Administrator Maria Teresita Lacsamana-Cancio tackled in her discussion the NCMB Core Values and Succession Plan and gave insights on how important trainings and seminars are for the Board especially for the newly hired employees. She emphasized that everyone in the Board, no matter what rank, should be equipped with knowledge on the programs and advocacies of the Board so that with proper training and mentoring, the employees of the Board can rise from the ranks.

After the discussion, Region IX facilitated some indoor games. The groups appreciated the activity while it strengthened teamwork and bond with one another.

On April 25, 2019, Atty. Ronda Malimban discussed about Gender Responsive Governance. The topic was about equality and equity for all gender. Some laws were also discussed like Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710), Women in Development and Nation Building (RA 7192), Additional Paternity Leave (RA 8187) and updates like 105-Day Extended Maternity Leave Law (RA 11210). The topic was followed by The Future of Human Communication discussed by Admin. Cancio. She talked about human communication, artificial intelligence, and the advantages and disadvantages of the advanced technologies that we use today.

On April 26, 2019, which is the final day, Regions XI-XIII facilitated indoor games which focused on how to lead and handle a team.

Overall, the activity was meaningful, productive and gave each present an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and established stronger camaraderie.
